    Accessibility

We are Athora Netherlands (hereinafter: Athora). We are the parent company of Zwitserleven and Reaal, among others. We offer insurance and other financial products and services. We believe it is important that everyone can easily read and use all information and services. That is why we do our best to make everything as accessible as possible.

What do we mean by accessibility?

We want as many people as possible to be able to use the Athora website. This includes people with disabilities or preferences. For example, if you:

    • are blind or visually impaired,
    • have hearing difficulties,
    • or have limited use of a body part.

In this statement, we explain the rules for accessibility. We also explain what we do to comply with these rules. If you think something is not working properly, please let us know. We explain how you can do this.

    What rules apply to accessibility?

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) is a European law. This law ensures that digital products and services are accessible to as many people as possible. Think of websites, apps and ATMs. Everything must be designed in such a way that people with disabilities or preferences can also use it properly.

All countries in the European Union must comply with these rules. In the Netherlands, this is regulated by a special law: the Implementation Act on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services.

With this statement, we demonstrate that the Athora website complies with the rules of the EAA. This means that we comply with the laws for digital accessibility in Europe. We want the Athora website to work well for everyone. That is why we ensure that we comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level A and AA. These are international rules that help make websites and apps accessible.

What are we doing to make the Athora website accessible?

We are taking various measures to ensure that the Athora website is accessible:

    • Accessible by design: We ensure that accessibility is an integral part of the design, testing and modification of the Athora website.
    • Regular checks: We regularly check that the Athora website is still accessible. If we find any problems, we resolve them.
    • Training for employees: Our employees receive training so that they know how to work in an accessible manner.

    Accessibility assessment

We assess accessibility on a regular basis. The Athora website was assessed in May 2025. This internal assessment showed that the Athora website partially complies with accessibility guidelines. We are working to resolve all accessibility issues that were identified. In this way, we ensure that the Athora website is accessible to everyone.

What are we doing to improve accessibility?

We keep a close eye on changes in legislation. We also follow new developments in digital accessibility. This allows us to continue improving the Athora website. We are making the website more accessible by:

Making PDF files as accessible as possible.

    • We are aware that older documents in particular may not fully comply with the guidelines. If you have any problems with a document, please do not hesitate to contact us.
